Back again.... Yucks!! I don't stick to my word!!!
Well!! Back after "Diwali". Diwali is all about fun, frolic, sweets and crackers. At Bangalore we could see that Diwali was in full swing all around. But what caught my attention was not the fun and frolic, but more prominent was the danger of the crackers and total disregard to safety and fellow beings. We were driving around and to my horror, a box of crackers was kept on the road and was being set on fire. Sparkles and bits were buzzing on to all directions and i guess even my car took a hit. I just kept moving on and hoped my car wouldn't catch fire. I think most of the motorists had the same thought in my mind. I hoped the 'fun' was over and drove back into the 'safe confines' of my home. But imagine my horror, when people started bursting crackers there also right next to my car. I ran back and parked my car away from their 'fun'. After every one 'beat the retreat' i parked my car back at the usual spot. ( Next morning i did find burnt bits and pieces of crackers on my car :'( ). Then it was the turn of other neighbours, for whom the fun started at 01:00 am. We ( including my 5 motnh old son, who had a complete restless night) woke up with a start with the sound of powerful crackers. I came out and saw, with complete disregard to safety, the were throwing the "Rockets" after lighting them with their bare hands and also they did not have the faintest idea, where these rockets would go to. One of the rockets exploded in their own car porch. I though that should do it. NO WAY!! they all had a hearty laughs with 'high fives' and went on with their merriment for the next one hour or so. I retreated into the confines of my home hoping nothing would explode close to our windows.
When all this happened, im happy to note that there were a bunch of people who had assembled with family in an open ground and was bursting crackers and enjoying there. I would say they were the 'model neighbourhood' of the day.
Shouldn't the authorities take care of such instances. i would say we should be having more police patrols roaming around in the busy areas and thwart any attempts of bursting crackers in the residential neighbourhoods and busy streets. Here i really dont know what to say, People have simply gone "MAD"
